Is sport yarn and baby sport yarn the same thing?

I was just wondering because I am getting a crochet baby outfit pattern from the UK and they used UK DK yarn and said it is sport yarn in the USA. I want to make sure that I am using the correct yarn size to insure the correct size of the finished project.
