I need as much information about the British made Sten Gun (round about WWII).?

My father is an attorney in Illinois defending a fellow charged with possession of a Sten Gun (the fact that it is an automatic weapon does not matter due to the fact that the automatic weapons ban expired). The Sten Gun is British made (although Norway, Denmark, and several other countries made their own copies). They all fired 19mmX9mm handgun ammunition, and were made of thin sheet metal. They were known for jamming, and not very reliable. My father's client also was caught in possession of an SKS Magazine, but no Sten magazine. We (who know) know that you cannot fire a Sten Gun with an SKS magazine. I am hoping to find an expert in the midwest who would testify for $50/hr, (that's all we can pay, and it's coming out of our pocket's), It's hurting us because Illinois law states that the firearm is either READY TO FIRE OR could easily be MADE READY TO FIRE (like, you could go down to your local gun shop and buy a Sten gun magazine, which, we all know is not likely, ESPECIALLY CONSIDERING THAT OUR CLIENT DOESN'T HAVE AN ILLINOIS FIREARM OWNER'S IDENTIFICATION CARD. I'm looking for someone in Illinois who can refer me to someone in the NRA (my father and I both belong to the NRA) who could testifiy as an expert in northwest illinois for $50 per hour that there is no way that a sten gun could be made readily fireable without A: a sten box magazine, which he did not have, or, access to purchasing a sten box magazine, which he didn't have because he does NOT have an ILLINOIS FOID CARD. Can someone please help us here. my email is johndeporter@yahool.com and I am the researcher. The attorney himself is my father, Dennis DePorter (dennisdeporter@yahoo.com)
